Stock Picks Recap for 3/21/16

With each stock's recap, we will include a (with market support) or (without market support) tag, designating whether the trade triggered with or without market directional support at the time. Anything in the first five minutes will be considered WITHOUT market support because market direction cannot be determined that early. ETF calls do not require market support, and are thus either winners or losers.

From the report, no calls.

From the Messenger/Tradesight_st Twitter Feed, PYPL triggered long (with market support) and worked great:

GILD triggered long (with market support) and worked great:

GS triggered long (with market support) and didn't work:

Futures Calls Recap for 3/21/16

What a dull start to the week. Coming off of Friday's triple expiration, we definitely are seeing the slow start to the new options cycle. NASDAQ volume was only 1.4 billion shares. The Opening Range plays still worked. I had another call on the ES that I closed even. See those sections below.

Net ticks: +13.5 ticks.

As usual, let's start by taking a look at the ES and NQ with our market directional lines, VWAP, and Comber on the 5-minute chart from today's session:

ES and NQ Opening and Institutional Range Plays:

ES Opening Range Play triggered long at A and worked:

NQ Opening Range Play triggered long at A and worked:

ES Tradesight Institutional Range Play:

NQ Tradesight Institutional Range Play:

ES:

My call triggered long at A at 2043.25, but after almost 25 minutes of not going anywhere because the market was so dead, I closed it even:

Interesting lesson on the Opening Range Plays. If both the ES and the NQ trigger at the same time but in opposite directions, take the one that is into the gap, which was the NQ and it worked. Outside of that, triple expiration. I'm back Monday from vacation.

Net ticks: +4 ticks.

As usual, let's start by taking a look at the ES and NQ with our market directional lines, VWAP, and Comber on the 5-minute chart from today's session:

ES and NQ Opening and Institutional Range Plays:

GBPUSD:

Triggered short at A, hit first target at B, stopped second half. Triggered long at C, closed even at D for end of week:

We got the options unraveling move after the first hour and it was to the upside. Volume was light and we are now into triple expiration mode. Opening Range plays worked. Friday should be a bust, but I will be around for the early action and OR plays. NASDAQ volume closed at 1.7 billion shares.
