Futures Calls Recap for 10/17/14
A big gap up for options expiration. We had a winner on the ES that didn't go far, and that was it. A call in the afternoon didn't trigger. NASDAQ volume closed at 1.9 billion shares, strangely the lightest of the week for expiration.
Net ticks: +2.5 ticks.
As usual, let's start by taking a look at the ES and NQ with our market directional lines, VWAP, and Comber on the 5-minute chart from today's session:
ES:
Triggered long at A at 1884.00, hit first target for 6 ticks, stopped second half under the entry:

A not so exciting session that gave us two stop outs and a winner. See EURUSD section below.
Here's a look at the US Dollar Index intraday with our market directional lines:
As usual on the Sunday report, we will look at the action from Thursday night/Friday, then look at the daily charts of all the pairs with the Seeker and Comber separately for the week ahead, and then glance at the US Dollar Index. Check out several of the daily charts below for comments.
EURUSD:
Triggered short at A and stopped. Triggered long at B, stalled at the VAH exactly, and eventually stopped. Put them back in in the morning, triggered short at C, hit first target at D, and closed the final half at E for end of week:
Stock Picks Recap for 10/16/14
With each stock's recap, we will include a (with market support) or (without market support) tag, designating whether the trade triggered with or without market directional support at the time. Anything in the first five minutes will be considered WITHOUT market support because market direction cannot be determined that early. ETF calls do not require market support, and are thus either winners or losers.
From the report, PTX triggered long (with market support) and closed it in the money, but it didn't go far:
From the Messenger/Tradesight_st Twitter Feed, Rich's VIPS triggered long (with market support) and didn't work, worked later:

Futures Calls Recap for 10/16/14
None of the calls triggered today, and after I saw that crazy whips early on, I didn't make any more. Markets gapped down, eventually filled, and the S&P closed dead flat for the session while the NDX lost 20 on 2.3 billion NASDAQ shares.
Net ticks: +0 ticks.

Two trades in the ES, both of which hit their first targets and nothing more. See that section below. The markets gapped up, came back so the NQ could fill the gap, then drifted up over lunch. In the afternoon, we dipped again just enough for the ES to fill before recovering a bit. NASDAQ volume closed at 2.25 billion shares.
Net ticks: +5 ticks.

Futures Calls Recap for 10/13/14
No futures calls for the US Bank Holiday, but the markets actually did move to the downside. There are two days a year where the markets are open but banks are closed, and in 20 years of trading, this is the first time I've seen the markets actually move on one of those days. We ended up with some nice trades early. NASDAQ volume closed at 2.2 billion shares.
Net ticks: +0 ticks.
